"Historical Hero's, top favorite historical eras for hotties"
A good man is a good man in any era (loving, accepting of the heroine, buns of steel if at all possible ;) but when it comes to historical hotties, I’ve got
1. 18thcentury
I know this was the ultimate era for dandies. They powdered their hair and some men wore make-up and high-heels but men that dressed like this were in the minority. It was also an age of great exploration and discovery and frankly, I’ve always found those elegant three piece suits gorgeous. A man who knows how to dress well is always attractive.
1. The Regency
Hardly a surprise that I love this era – I write for it. The appeal is manifold. The exquisite manenrs, the clean, modern lines of their clothes, Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy. But I do love the regency era and I think that some of the hottest men (not counting the Prince of Wales, who kind of balances out the hotness factor by being firmly on the not hot side of things).
3. WW1
I skipped over much of the nineteenth century because frankly, big whiskers, high waisted pants in loud checks and brill cream just don’t do it for me. My third and final era is that of World War 1. The decade sees such a sea change and the men – for the most part, average, ordinary men who undertake such heartbreaking tasks at the behest of their country.
It is the ultimate tension between the past and the modern age. Duty, valour and sacrifice are always such potent forces in a hero.
